It's just got that amount of spooky feel to it that would work for him. Imagining it as a stop motion animated movie right now is making me smile, though I'd be a little worried that the plot is too thick to stay within an animated film time limit (they rarely go into the two hour zone, especially for stop-motion animated features). No one else, though. I always thought the same way about "The Series of Unfortunate Events" movie. It wasn't terrible, but it just didn't fit the style of the book. I honestly think it would have made a remarkable stop-motion animation movie, and I pray that they someday remake it that way. Though "Alaizabel Cray" wouldn't really due as a stop motion film, in my opinion, I do think that directors like the ones I mentioned could shape it into a great movie.
